Since my last entry about Apple Lettuce Salad, i've been wanting to share the recipe of my best dish, but i just couldn't find the time and motivation to do so.
Thank God for all, i had the urge to whip up my best and favourite dish (Fried Rice Kiwi Style) this afternoon for my dinner. It's simple to prepare, nice to eat and easy to clean up. Introducing, Fried rice in 15min!(Inclusive of preparation time).
Ingredients are as follows (Up to individual preference actually):
- Cooked rice 4 to 5 scoop(For me doesn't matter it's overnight or freshly cooked, it taste as delicious after some wild fire stirring).
- 2 to 3 eggs.
- 2 to 3 hotdogs.
- Dark soy sauce.
- Seseame Oil.
- Garlic(Optional).
- Pepper(A Must!).
- Salt.
Steps to prepare:
- (For an even distribution of flavouring with less or even no mess while frying the rice.) Pour the rice into a large bowl. Mix the rice with 2 to 3 table spoon of dark soy sauce & 1 to 2 table spoon of seseame oil. Stir the rice evenly with the condiments added. When it's evenly mixed, leave it to rest at room temperature or chuck it into the fridge.
- Slice 2 to 3 hotdogs thinly and chuck it one side.
- Beat up 2 to 3 eggs with 1 tea spoon of light soy sauce and chuck it one side.
- Chop 1 small garlic into fine bits. (Optional unless you're a garlic lover.)
- Fried shallot (Optional).
Now we're all set to go!
- Heat up cooking oil till it's hot. *Reminder, all the stages of cooking are done on the highest possible fire your stove can perform for you.
- Pour in your beaten eggs and keep stirring till it's cook and breaks into very small pieces. When it's about 80% cooked, throw in your sliced hotdogs and stir fry it with your eggs.
- (Optional step). Push all ingredients onto one side of the pan and stir fry your chopped garlic till golden brown.
- Mix all ingredients together and stir fry it till it's 100% cooked, then pour in your pre-mixed rice and mix everything together evenly. (You can use a ladle to do so. For lazy pple like me, just give it a few toss, but do it at your own risk). Keep tossing for about 2 minutes till the rice is about drying up.
- Add in 1 to 1 & 1/2 teaspoon of salt & 1 to 2 teaspoon of pepper. Keep tossing for another 2 to 3 minutes till everything is mixed well. Taste and see whether you like your fried rice to be more saltish or pepperish and add as accordingly.
- Toss for another minute or 2 under high fire to ensure best results.
- Serve & top it with some fried shallot.
Done! Fried rice that serves 2(for big eaters) & 4(for the diet watchers).
For the ingredients, i've tried using silver fish, and diced scallop. It's gives a totally savouring seafood taste. As i'm a meat lover, so no greens were involved in this dish. But, put your creativity to the test and you might just create "Your Style Fried Rice"! Try it today and share with me/us your creations.
